Does anyone know why E1 transformers do not typically have built in common mode
chokes like Ethernet? Cabling is the same as ethernet so I would think that
radiated emissions would be similar.
I know some manufacturers have it built into the transformer and you can get
it integrated with the connector but sometimes this is not an option because of
single source issues etc.
I can add a common mode transformer but I can't help but wonder if additional
EMI protection like this is typically not used in an E1 application and if so
why?
