It depends on the operational bit rates of the signals on that trace.
Wider traces do give lower skin losses, but dielectric losses will
increase and will eventually dominate at a given frequency for a given
material and trace width. Therefore at a bit rate (Gbps) adding trace
width will actually increase losses. =20
I also agree with Istvan with his comments on routing density and
crosstalk. With today's high pin count devices that aspect cannot be
ignored.=20
