[SI-LIST] Re: DIMM Power Consumption

Adeel,

This is a difficult question to answer because it depends crucially on the
mix of cycles your system sends to the DIMMs. What is the average DIMM
utilization? How many pages does the controller keep open, what is the
average time each bank spends in some active state? and so on. It's like
asking how much gas does a car use - it depends how often you drive it and
how fast. YMMV.

But despair not, try the SDRAM DIMM power estimation tool from Micron:

Subject: [SI-LIST] DIMM Power Consumption

Hi All,
Can someone tell me how to estimate roughly the Typical and Max.
power consumption for a 168-pin +3.3V 128Mb DIMM operating at 100MHz ?.

Regards,
ADEEL MALIK
