While you may have posted your recent message to si-list with
intentions of letting all know the existance of available SI training
opportunities, it really comes across as self serving commercialism
which is and always has been discouraged on si-list.

There are several other consultants and companies who are subscribers
and regular contributors to si-list who also from time to time put on
training seminars but have not posted advertisements to the list. By
following the list rules against commercial advertising those
individuals and companies are put at a competitive disadvantage when
someone chooses to violate the no-advertising rule and spray the list
with their ad. It makes for an uneven playing field. This same rule
applies to all commercial endeavors (CAD tool vendors, consultants,
etc., not just training seminars).

I just wanted to remind all who may have the intention to post their own
ads to the list (since someone else did it) that commercial advertising
isn't appropriate message traffic on si-list.

Using training seminars as an example, if you feel that your course
content directly contributes to an ongoing message thread, perhaps you
could have framed it as such and simply provided a pointer to your web
site for further details as opposed to a full blown ad on the list.
