Ashish- Perhaps these numbers will be of use to you. These are some typical parameters for a few assorted AT cut crystals in the 3-10 MHz range. Freq Lm (H) Cm (pF) Co (pF) ESR (ohms) Q 3.58 0.13 0.0152 3.35 58 50,000 5.0 0.098 0.0134 2.275 12.8 240,000 10.0 0.020 0.0126 2.8 6.3 200,000 ---+---Lm-----Cm-----ESR---+---- | | +---------Co---------------+ Depending on the quality of the crystals the ESR and Q can vary quite a bit with high quality commercial and communications quality parts having much lower ESR and higher Q as compared to the common mass produced consumer parts. As I mentioned these parameters are for AT cut crystals. Other cuts may have somewhat different characteristics. -Ray Anderson WB6TPU Senior Signal Integrity Staff Engineer Xilinx Inc.
