Convergence problems are a fact of life in any SPICE. There is no simple way around many of them. Some commercial versions of SPICE (such as HSPICE) include lots of enhancements that make them more robust, but there seems to be no way to totally safeguard against convergence problems. Problems like yours, where problems appear when you combine everything together, are not uncommon. If you have more than one HSPICE version available, try them. Occasionally the small changes in one version may either alleviate your unique convergence problems, or make them worse. The W-line code is relatively new, and there are subtle differences from version to version. There are a number of SPICE options that you can adjust. Crack open the manuals and try some of them. Just be aware that the changes you make, can affect the results, so be careful. It's tempting to stop tweaking once you achieve convergence.
