Short answer: No, I haven't seen any difference
in my own experience. And I've tested with both.
Even a completely floating secondary side.
I have run into isolated grounding schemes (single
point and even floating) on the secondary side of
power supplies in the telco world much more than
anywhere else. But I've also seen grounded
secondaries in the telco world too.
I think if you read between the lines of some of the
more prominent EMC authors, you'll find some are
single point grounders and others are multipoint.
There have been times where I was forced to consider
single point secondary or even completely floating
secondary grounding schemes due to the ability of
whatever it was I was working with being able to
put strong circulating currents into the chassis.
But that's been rare. And it may be indicative of
some incorrect grounding scheme/construction
of the board itself.
