[SI-LIST] Re: Can Somone explain port definition for HFSS (For be ginner)

Steve:

My answer will focus on a port definition to model a port with a certain
impedance value in the Ansoft HFSS version 8.

Ports can be defined as a "Lumped Gap Port". The port impedance is
defined by the user.

For example, you can create a 50 ohm port by this Lumped Gap Port to
model 50 ohm cables and probes in your Network Analyzer measurement.
This requires a impedance and calibration line definition between the
ground plane (of test board or fixture) and the conductor or probe pad.

As I know, Ansoft on-line support could provide you some application
notes on this problem. Try their web site: www.ansoft.com

I hope this helps you.
