Greetings experts. I have a question concerning finding a distance from a measurement port of a capacitive discontinuity in a coaxial connector. I am aware of the fact that the velocity of propagation is v = c/SQRT(Er). However, when performing a TDR sweep, how does the rise time affect the calculation of actual distance traveled? I suspect that any calculations will be gross estimations depenting on the length of discontiuity and respective rise time. Any insight would be of great help. Regards, Merrick M.
