[SI-LIST] Re: Buffer Drive Strength

You can get a good comparison but you will not be able to determine if it is a
2mA, 8mA, etc. The current rating of a buffer tells the user that at a given
current the output voltage will not exceed the specified voltage. In my
experience a part will be much stronger than the rating suggests in most cases.
For example a 2 mA buffer with a Vol of 0.4 Volts may actually have the
ability to sink 12mA at 0.4 volts, nominal Vcc and room temperature.

Other examples I have seen from the same part
rating measured
4mA 27mA
8mA 32mA
8mA 44mA
12mA 46mA
24mA 71mA
48mA 130mA

Subject: [SI-LIST] Buffer Drive Strength

Is there an easy way to determine I/O buffer drive strength from looking at
an IBIS model??
