Does anyone know of a good book that introduces high_speed board design
simulation using HSPICE

An excellent discussion of this topic can be found in Digital Signal =3D

sin(x)/x in the time domain is the rough approximation (or consequence)
=3D
of a
brick-wall filter in the frequency domain ... flat response below some
frequency, negligible response above it.
On oscilloscopes when you are displaying a sweep rate that is fast =3D
relative
to the sample rate, sin(x)/x gives a 'smoother' picture than linear
interpolation between samples, which can be either a good thing, or
deceptive.
