[SI-LIST] Re: Ansoft NexximT versus Hspice

You'll probably have a difficult time with feedback on the Nexxim =
tool...
The reason being is that it is not fully released ... yet.. However, I =
have
been able to use the tool over Nexxim last few months... =20

First, a disclaimer, all of my work to date has been signal or power
integrity analysis of passive structures.. I have not used any =
transistor
level capabilities.

* I have found it to simulate faster than hspice (I have not personally =
used
hspice... but I have been able to compare simulations between my work =
and a
customer design team. The customer that had HSPICE was impressed with =
the
speed of the simulation speed of Nexxim. (Yes, the answer were exactly =
the
same from the same SPICE deck)
* Able to simulate hspice w and u elements
* Integrates well with the Ansoft field extractors !!!
* work equally as well with either time or frequency domain simulations
* easily perform time domain simulations on sparameters, spice and/or =
hspice
models
* extensive macro capabilities
* great exporting / importing
* GREAT support staff.

HSPICE is probably the perceived "gold standard" in the industry... but =
I
have been very satisfied with the performance of the Nexxim product...=20

Th only real negative of the Nexxim product is probably the report/graph
tool... It isn't bad.... and it is improving.... But there are better =
tools
out there... (unfortunately, I do not know the capability of HSPICE =
tools
in this area.)

Best Regards,
ap

Dear All,

=20

can anyone tell me which one is the best for simulation:=20

=20

Ansoft NexximT  or  Hspice

=20

please tell me something positive/negetive ,if anyone used this new =
software
before.

=20

I need to buy one of them for my company. we are PCB design based =
company.

=20

Thanks.
