[SI-LIST] Re: Actual experience with LVDS to optical serializers with LVPECL inputs

Hi Sal,

I have tried a pretty similar arrangement and had no problems =
whatsoever.
The thing to take into account is the common mode and p-p diff swing =
requirements of the receiver.
If the input signal satisfies both then you should be fine. =20

Cheers

Muhammad

Subject: [SI-LIST] Actual experience with LVDS to optical serializers
with LVPECL inputs

Hello All,

Wondering if any of you have had to interface LVDS to
LVPECL inputs. If so, I'm just wondering what kind
of results you've obtained. Most of the ON Semi app
notes say you can connect the outputs of an LVDS
driver into th e inputs of the LVPECL input. =20

Did you have any signal integrity issues?
Does the LVPECL register the serial stream correct?

The driver is a standard LVDS output driver and the
receiver is a serializer IC mounted on an optics
module and it is LVPECL.

Any info on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
