[SI-LIST] Re: 3D field solver

Hi Samuel,

I would suggest you try the Ansoft Q3D tool (part of their Maxwell SPICELINK
suite of tools) ... because for true-3D structures, I have found that as one of
the better tools. I have found it a great tool to visualize current
distributions based on proximity effects - it will show a beautiful, 3D colored
plot of current distribution.

As with any tool it has limitations, and I want to bring out one of them that I
feel is pertinent here - Although the tool will show you current distribution
plots, I am not completely convinced yet whether the RLC matrix of results it
generates out will have the proximity effects in it ... maybe the experts
reading this message here can comment on that.

Good luck with your search,

- Neeraj.
