[shell-coding] win98 and codepage errors...

Ok, sooner or later this had to happen... concerning to me 'later' would
have been better. My main coding computer crashed and burned 2 days ago.
Processor dead, MB dead etc. Now I'll have to settle with a win98se system
for coding purposes, using MSVC 6 with sp5.
My problem: chinese and other language resources produce compile error... is
there any way around that? I've been looking for 4 hours now, but the web
doesn't really help me here...
My question: Does a download of a ms package of some kind solve the problem?
If yes, any ideas where to get it?
Mike
