It isn't a big deal, I found a way to get things working happily. I turned on "vacation" mode for this list on the email address I subscribed, so I do not get any emails, but still can post and view via gmane. I think the issue is that the LSML is open to non-subscribers posting, whereas this one is not. iirc we were getting spam on this list so it was made subscriber only.

Anyway, you can leave it as things are, since this vacation thing seems to work just fine. :)
