SFCC Members:
A few reminders and Updates.

Check out the Member Pictures at the SFCC Website- Click here http://sunflowercomputerclub.net/ See the latest and greatest smiles from our members,Tech Team-Mac (Steen) and officer-TIM!

Next Wed is the General Meeting. Did I read there will be multiple DOOR prizes?

MAC users: You are able to print two sided, BUT , you need to specify two sided from within the application you open.
For example if you open Adobe you must select two sided printing.
Or if you open Word you must select two sided printing.
So far, we cannot figure out how to default all printing to two sided without manually requesting it from within the application.

General Printing notes ( we just learned we need to prepare for this event ).
If you have a RUN AWAY print job - what should you do?
On each printer there is a Cancel or Stop button. I am not at the printers this moment and I forget which one says what. But if you press the appropriate button, all jobs will stop. Then call a Tech Team member, the names and phone numbers are in the Blue Bulletin Board. Note - there is a telephone in the Computer Room. You could also pull the print drawer to stop the printer, but our Tech Team suggests you do not do this if possible. It could cause a paper jam that could be harmful to the hardware.

It seldom get really exciting about big jobs - but once in a while we need a little excitement and need to know how to control those printers. So if the situation presents itself AGAIN (smile), that is one way to stop the printer from making a lot of scrap paper.

I have been receiving comments that the MAC and System 3 and 4 screens are too small. " Was that system ok?", "Well yes, but I like the larger screen." So the user moved to a different system with a larger screen when it was available.

Ok, we get the message ( and we agree! ) , we will work on that for all concerned very soon(we have been thinking about it already).

Over the next few weeks, the Tech Team will be trying to upgrade to Windows 7. There may be times when the Tech Team holds up a machine for a few hours. Today the Tech Team tried to upgrade a machine and after 2.5 hours it did not work. The message is, their may be some times then a Tech Team member sits on the machine for a long time - and they asked - we let you know what is going on. Sorry for the delay - but they are trying to keep things current for the membership.

That is all for now,

Chuck- SFCC President 2010
