We are well on our way to getting a large number of our scouts to completion
on the very important, Eagle required, Communications Merit Badge. Please
follow the link to the Progress Checklist
<https://skydrive.live.com/?sc=documents#!/view.aspx?cid=78F2CA079EEB0929&re
sid=78F2CA079EEB0929%214766> in order to see where your scout stands. We
will be working together to complete the following requirements:

Requirement #:

5) City Council Meeting - We will meet during our regular meeting time on
March 20th at the City Hall Building front steps (be there at 6:45 sharp) in
our Class A uniform shirts.

6) Teach a skill using the EDGE method - This will be done during our next
camping trip (Zipline trip-March 16-18)

8) Plan a Campfire Program - This will be done during our next camping trip
(Zipline trip-March 16-18)

We will allow time at the beginning of our meetings for the required
speeches to be given. Any remaining requirements should be turned in at a
regular meeting. Please help your scout stay motivated to complete this!

Thank you!

Tonight will be our final "Classroom" night for the Communications Merit
Badge. Please make sure your scout is in attendance and working on his
requirements. Tonight we will be working on Requirements 6 & 8. Req. 8
will be completed at our next camping trip with the scouts leading the
Campfire Program on Saturday Night.

The Final Requirement number 5 will be accomplished during our regular
meeting date of March 20th when we will be meeting at the City Hall to watch
a city council meeting in progress. Please put this on your calendar and
all scouts will need their Class A uniform shirts. We will NOT be coming to
the Scout Hut.

In order to see the progress, please go to the Merit Badge Progress
Checklist

sid=78F2CA079EEB0929%214766> (click link). This is a live document of the
scout's progress.

Assignments 1,2&7 have been made as assignments to be completed and turned
in (some scouts have completed req. 2 w/their speeches so check the list)

Continue to work on 3 (speeches). This will continue as long as is
necessary, so let's get 'em done. We will be allowing speeches tonight as
well!

I think that is all. See you soon!

1. Please remind the boys to print, review and bring a copy of the
Commications Merit Badge Workbook with them for tomorrow night's meeting.

2. During the January 24th meeting, I will do an overview presentation of
the topic, including a review of "a typical commication day for myself" and
how I communicate on a daily basis via different media (verbally in person
or by phone, email, text, etc) and on different levels (business-wise,
personally with co-workers, friends and family, etc.)

3. I will review the Merit Badge Workbook and task the boys with completion
of 1 item in Section 1 for discussion at the next meeting, scheduled for
Tuesday, February 14th.

At the February 14th meeting, we will assign the remaining activities to be
completed for Merit Badge qualification.

Thanks,

Dan White
