[School-GNU-Linux] sata problem

my problem was during installation it says partitioning media not found
prcessor is sempron2800
hdd 80sata seagate
sata controller via8237
asus k8v-mx motherboard
i tried modprobe sata_via
but problem still repeating

i tried the new one ,means new downloaded linux
but i don't know how it install
i coudn't install
