[School-GNU-Linux] dpkg error

When i tried 2 install it@school gbu/linux in
kuthuparamba HS only command mode access in two
systems.
Then i try the command "dpkg........".but i cannot see
the blue screen.for which a message appeared like this
"/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure:xserver-xfree86 is not
installed"
why this?how i can configure the graphics in these
systems?
