IT@School GNU/Linux 3.0 supports 64Bit processors and almost all motherboards.

Also ask your service provider to set the username/password in the
modem itself. A step by step guide to setup the boardband is attached.

Yes. There is no difference. In some cases you have to disable the
network connection icon shown in the top panel of desktop. It is a
small mouse like icon near the clock/volume. Right click on it to
disable it.
