When you select to install print server, please make sure that after
adding the second CD, remove it and insert the first CD in the drive
before selecting the tasksel or select packages by task option in the
synaptic. The package foomatic-deb20061031-all.deb and
librecode_3.6-12_i368.deb are all in first CD.
try running the tasksel command in a root terminal and try selecting
CD2 and Printserver again.

Also make sure the /dev/cdrom or /dev/cdrom0 points to the correct
device. To check that issue the command
ls -l /dev/cdrom
If it is not the correct device, remove the file with the command
rm /dev/cdrom
and add it again with the correct device as
ln -s /dev/correct-name /dev/cdrom
It is possible to install School GNU/Linux via USB. For that you need to refer :
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch04s04.html.en
In the second CD there is a step by step documentation for Network
Installation is available in the netboot folder.

Setup a system with openoffice organized as the way you want. Then
copy the .openoffice2.org folder from the home directory to the system
where you want the exact configuration for openoffice.

It is not possible to upgrade IT@School Lite version. But you can
install the latest kernel to the School GNU/Linux 3.0. to do that ,
find your current kernel with the command
uname -a
and check whether the installed kernel is a 486 or 686
install the new kernel with the command
apt-get install linux-image-2.6.21-2-XXX (replace XXX with 486 or 686
as per your system)

There is two seperate CDs released after the 3.0.1 version shipped to
schools. the one with version 3.0.2 which will boot on older
systems. Also there is a base only system which has the latest kernel.
Both the CDs are available at IT@School Project Office, Trivandrum or
with District Coordinators and Master Trainer Coordinators.

Yes. You can install KDE and change to it if you have the Debian DVDs.
Use synaptic pakage manager to add the DVD and search for KDE and
install KDE.
