Yes; you can change them to deb; but I'm not sure whether it will
work. BTW did you tried the printer driver pakage available at
http://support.space-kerala.org? Some times the test print wont work.
Please try printing from gedit/text editor/openoffice etc.

SGL 3.0 requires atleast 256 MB of ram and a processor P3 or above. or
for low end processors you need more ram. The minimum graphics memory
required is 8MB. You can allocate it either from BIOS or with the xorg
options (dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg).

If the SGL3 is slow in new systems, try installing from the base
system with latest kernel (2.6.21) from

The wikipedia is available to download form
http://wikipediaondvd.com/nav/art/d/w.html

and

http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/charity-news/wikipedia-for-schools.htm

But why it is unauthorized? WikiPedia is a standard and it is legal to
copy and distribute its content. Then I dont understand why the
students are not allowed to use wikipedia on CD/DVD.

These CDs can be distributed by IT@School project to all the schools

To key in malayalam, the SGL3.0 only supports Unicode fonts. Some of
those fonts can be downloaded from : http://suruma.sarovar.org

and the debian repositary at

deb http://download.savannah.nongnu.org/releases/smc/debian/ etch main

To install a font, please copy it to the directory /usr/share/fonts/truetype/

or in the location bar (Ctrl+L in home directory) and type fonts:// in
that. Copy the font files to it. and execute the command fc-cache

Hope this Helps,
