Dear All, Insight', a joint initiative of Kerala State IT Mission and SPACE, aims at bringing the fruits of ICTs to the differently-abled people. The initiative which uses Free and Open Software to overcome the economic hurdles encountered by similar projects elsewhere is already well underway. Starting with the setting up of an ICT centre for the visually challenged in Thiruvananthapuram, the project is being rolled out in seven districts through Akshaya centres. More than 30 visually challenged people have been trained as master trainers. Shri. V.S. Achuthanandan, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala will dedicate the project to the state at 3.30 PM on 16th January 2008 at Hotel Residency Tower, South Gate Secretariat, Press Road, Thiruvananthapuram. Computers sponsored by the State Bank of India, State Bank of Travancore, and G-Tech will be handed over to the visually challenged master trainers at the ceremony. We invite you to bless and brighten the occasion.
