Dear Suneet,
*Grub re installation*
Boot with the IT@School GNU/Linux CD 1
1. in the *boot:* prompt enter *rescue*
2. proceed till you get the prompt with a list of partitions available
in the system: Choose a root partition to use
3. choose the / (root) partition of your system. (you can use trial
and error method!)
4. select the *install grub* option from the menu and you are done.
5. enter *reboot* in the prompt to reboot the system.
I think this will solve Your problem!
