MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


The General Election is the election in which we vote for various state
and government offices, including House of Representatives and some
members of the U. S. Senate.

The South Carolina House of Representatives consists of 124 members
elected November 2, 2004, to serve until Monday after the General
Election in November of 2006.
 
The Senate consists of 46 members who are elected from single member
districts of approximately 87,200 citizens. Senators must be citizens of
the United States and the State of South Carolina, at least 25 years old
at the time of their election, and residents of the district in which
they are elected. Senators serve four year terms.

Some positions that will be available for voting are:
 Governor

-          Lt. Governor

-          Secretary of State 

-          State Treasurer

-          Attorney General

-          Comptroller General

-          State Superintendent of Education

-          Adjutant General

-          Commissioner of Agriculture

-          U.S. House of Representatives (Congress)

            -     State House of Representatives

            -     multi-county district offices

            -     solicitor (districts 3, 5, 6, 12, 13, 15)

-          countywide and less than countywide offices
