[samscommunity] Support for victims of Hurricane Katrina

MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


Hurricane Katrina was a powerful hurricane that caused extensive and severe 
damage over the southeastern United States (Louisiana, Mississippi, and 
Alabama), including the major city of New Orleans. Katrina will likely be 
judged as the worst natural disaster to hit the United States to date. Disaster 
relief plans are in operation in the affected areas.  We are urging the St. 
Andrews Middle School Community Residents to assist in our endeavor to raise 
funds for the victims.

Each homeroom will be collecting monetary donations during the month of 
September.  (The homeroom with the most money will have a pizza party.)

Also Ms. Forbes will be in our school's parking lot each Wednesday morning for 
parents who would like to make a donation, or you may take your donation to the 
main office if you are visiting our campus any other day or time. 

Any amount is appreciated.  We, as adults, need to set examples for the 
children who follow our lead.  If you have any other ideas to raise funds, 
please contact the school. Again, this is an effort to help the victims in 
Louisania, Mississipi, and Alabama, and we are asking for your support.
