MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


Congratulations to four eighth grade students whose poetry was featured on page 
7 of today's Neighbors Section of The State Newspaper.  The poems are included 
below:

A BIRD'S SONG

My teacher is a bird.
Her songs are her lessons
Sweet and Beautiful
Teaching us about life.
When she spreads her wings
She protects her students
Not from harm
But from stupidity.
Then she takes flight
Her flight is graduation
And Success.


PASSION

It?s been my passion
Since I was small.
Ever since I learned to crawl.
It seems to roll right off my tongue.
Sometime spoken and sometimes sung.
It entertains sometimes it brought pain
It?s in our memory.
Because it?s history.
WORDS!



LIFE

Life is a road
It has many curves and turns
Many choices of direction
Never goes perfectly straight
Has bumps on the way
Has stop signs and traffic lights
And almost always has a dead end.




WHEW!

I didn?t get my Spelling done
My Science was a mess
I totally forgot about the Social  Studies test.
Finished only half the math.
My essay was too short.  
The baby finger-painted jam all over my report.
On the bus, I lost my pen, and when I got in line, I couldn?t find the papers.
My parents had to sigh.
I gave up hope, went in to class, shaking in my boots.  And saw the greatest 
sight on Earth, a smiling substitute.
