Hi. Our school is participating in two separate events relating to the 2008
election.

Social Studies night is October 23rd. PARENTS will have the chance to
participate in the mock election voting process on this night. We will
encourage parents to vote for real on November 4th since the mock election
votes do not count towards the actual election. The purpose of the mock
election is to let people become familiar with the candidates' stand on the
issues and gain experience with the voting process.

Students ONLY are voting DURING the school day on October 30, 2008. October
30th is National Mock Election Day. Students nationwide participate in mock
voting on this day. This is something separate from Social Studies Night.

I hope this clears up some confusion. Our school will actually get a report
stating how many people voted and who our school "elected".

Thanks Jennifer!
