[samscommunity] Parent Survey distributed on Monday

MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


On Monday, students received Parent Surveys from the State Department of 
Education.  

The State Department of Education is conducting a survey to ask parents their 
opinions about the schools their children attend.  All parents in South 
Carolina who have children in select grades are being asked to complete this 
survey.  If you have children in more than one of the grades being surveyed, 
you will be asked to complete this survey for each child.  The results will be 
included in the school's report card.  Your answers will be anonymous and 
confidential.  School administrators will receive only a summary of the answers 
given by parents.

The goal of the parent survey is to measure how parents feel about their 
child's school.  Your opinions are very important in helping us learn more 
about parent involvement in South Carolina.  Your responses also will help 
schools identify better ways to work with parents.  If you are uncomfortable 
responding to any items on the survey, they may be omitted.

Please return the completed survey in the envelope provided by Tuesday, March 
21.  Do not staple or fold the form.  

*****As an extra incentive to get the children to return the surveys.  The 
homeroom with 100% return rate in the shortest amount of time will receive a 
pizza party.  Please help your child's homeroom by completing the survey and 
asking your child to return it as soon as possible.*****
