[samscommunity] National Groundhog "Go With a Relative to Work" Job Shadowing Day

MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


7th and 8th Graders at St. Andrews Middle School are being encouraged to =
participate in the National Groundhog Job Shadowing Day on Wednesday, Feb. =
2.

The program allows students to "shadow" a parent, other relative or =
trusted family friend, etc. on their job for an entire workday.  This is a =
good way for students to gain insight into the world of work and observe a =
"career in action." =20

Interested students should follow the following steps:

8th graders=20
1.  Go by Ms. Hatcher-Franquiz's office and pick up information and a =
permission form by Jan 20. =20
2.  Return the permission form by Jan. 28 and pick up an observation form. =
=20
3.  Go on the shadowing Feb. 2 and complete the observation form. =20
4.  Return the completed observation form by Feb. 4 to your counselor and =
the absence is excused.

7th Graders
1. Complete the tear-off section on the flier received in homeroom and =
return it to either your homeroom teacher or to Ms. Shealy by Jan. 20. =20
2. Permission forms will be sent to homeroom and those forms need to be =
completed and returned by Jan. 28. =20
3.  On Jan. 31 receive the observation form in homeroom.
4.  Go on the shadowing Feb. 2 and complete the observation form. =20
5.  Return the completed observation form to Ms. Shealy by Feb. 4 and the =
absence is excused.

This is an excellent opportunity and rewarding experience for both the =
