MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


Some of you may have questions about gangs and their activities.  

The first question is:  What is a gang?  See below for the response. 
Pay attention:  A gang does not have to be a large organization.

A street gang is a group or association of three or more persons who
may have a common identifying sign, symbol or name, and who individually
or collectively engage in, or have engaged in, criminal activity, or as
a juvenile commits an act that if committed by an adult would be a
criminal act. 

The Richland County Sheriff's Department has several websites with
information about gang awareness.  Please click below for more
information.  Be sure to attend the Gang Awareness Session sponsored by
the PTO on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 6:00 PM.
