Ms. Wylie,could you please add to the community forum that the Columbia
High School FBLA(Future Business Leaders of America) are selling spirit
items.  They have water bottles for $3, spirit pins $2.  We will also be
selling Pizza Hut coupon booklets for $10.  All proceeds will help
defray the cost of the students attending the regional fall learership
conference in Jacksonville in Nov.  If interested parents may contact
either Mrs. Tucker or myself at Columbia High.  We will have all items
for sale Friday night at the homecoming game.

Attention all 8th Grade Parents"

This school year, the SC Department of Education will again fund the
ACT EXPLORE assessment for all 8th graders.  EXPLORE is a "junior"
version of the PLAN/ACT tests at the high school level.  The test
provides students and parents with excellent information for educational
and career planning.  The test will also help students with their 4 year
plan for high school.

This school year, I will be contacting all parents for an individual
conference with you and your child.  This is required now by the state
legislature.  Taking the EXPLORE test is the first step in gathering
information for this individual conference.  More information on this
meeting will follow in the near future.

St. Andrews Middle School will give all 8th graders the EXPLORE
assessment on Wednesday, September 27th, during the morning hours. 
Student will stay in their homerooms to take the assessment, and then
report to lunch. After lunch they will resume their normal day
schedule.

You 8th grader should come prepared and bring two #2 pencils, as well
as their personal four-function calculator.  The school will provide
scratch paper, extra pencils, and a limited number of calculators.
