Richland 1 mulls Coles? future

Richland 1 school board members could say as soon as tonight whether they plan to extend superintendent Allen Coles’ contract or show him the door.

Coles called his first 20 months on the job a success, citing improved performance in some of the district’s 50 schools.

But one board member said Coles is in a high-stakes situation that won’t make it easy for him to receive a contract extension.
