I also intend to go out next weekend. How could I miss the first DOTM
star party? I'm certainly open to either site. FWIW, Antennas cools off
very rapidly in the evening. The day-night temp swing can be 40 degrees
out there.

Chris,
Please note the directions previously forwarded are for the original
Cherry
rd site, which seems to have been made off limits by the grading. Cherry
II
is about 1/4 mile farther down the road on the left.
Since we can't attach files on the list server, I'll forward you off
list a
list of observing sites that we use with there GPS Coordinates.
I wish I could join you all, but Lindsay is preparing for Confirmation
and
between that & Mother's Day I can't justify the outing. I am planning on
next week's DOTM star party. As much as I'd like to finally get to the
antennas site, If it's anywhere near this hot, I'll opt for Cherry II as
well (Hear that Jimmy)

Dan and Tim,
Thanks for the directions. I'm in great shape now. And just so you
guys
know, I prefer to observe all night since these sorts of opportunities
just
don't come along all that often.
Thanks again guys for the info.
See you out there,
Chris
P.S. Who plans a wedding between last quarter and first quarter?! My
wife
and I were married last October 7th....full moon weekend.

Hi Chris,
I-17 North to exit 278 Hwy 169 Cherry Rd.
Go west about 5 miles, just beyond marker 10.
There is a sign which says "Cherry 6".
Turn left (south).
Note: This is the opposite way the arrow on the sign points.
You will be on a pretty well-maintained dirt road, however, there are
some natural speed bumps, so drive slow. The site is located 0.5 mile
south of the hard surfaced Cherry Road. The observing field is a
large meadow to your right (west) thru a gate. It is marked with the
traditional Boy Scout rock marker, i.e., several rocks stacked on top
of each other at the turn off.
Unfortunately, Bob and I will miss as we have an evening wedding to
attend.
