This is great, Peter. I use the light pollution overlay feature from Clear Sky Clock often when I'm interested in the sky brightness at other sites around the country. Now that we have the tool, it would be interesting to see how SQM readings line up with the colors on the map. For instance, the contour map shows both Vekol and Saddle Mountain at a nearly identical place in the blue zone. However, in my one experience at Saddle Mountain, it seemed noticeably darker than Vekol. Readings at Saddle Mountain were on the order of 21.25. Does anybody have an SQM reading from Vekol for a moonless, photometric night? The map also shows how well chosen the Hovatter location is.
