This is slightly off topic but it is about a science fiction novel
titled "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester that is futuristic
with space travel. The author has quite an imagination and has some
interesting ideas. This was the first science fiction book I read and
read it when I was about 14 years old. I recently reread it and
discovered it really is very good, but at age 14 I had difficulty
understanding some of it. I think the thing that separates it from many
other science fiction books is that it embraces a concept that a person
can evolve throughout their life, a concept which I feel is not quite
embraced in our society, i.e., things are black and white. Once a
criminal always a criminal, and if a criminal automatically a bad
person. Forever.
