The ad was generally well-received on Cloudynights. The ad agency invited actual amateurs from the Antelope Valley Astronomy Club to an actual observing site, so it features telescopes pointed in the correct direction and actual constellations. One member of AVAC said that they had a star party for the crew after the shoot.

I love that the kids were asleep. That's the only incorrect element of the ad - "real" kids would've been all over the place!

Makes me want to go out and buy a Sequoia. Nah, we have less than 10,000 miles to go before the '91 Nissan Pickup has a light-second on the odometer.

My '74 Toyota Celica ST passed the light second rating in 1981. My mom paid $2,285 (prior model year demo car) and I sold it for $2,195 in 1981. How's that for retaining its value? Unfortunately, I don't think I could've gotten even a pair of binos and a tripod in its trunk :).
