[sac-forum] Starlight Instruments - Feather Touch Focuser news...

All,
Thought some of you might find this interesting.
Below is an article from the Northwest Suburban Astronomers' newletter, (The
Celestial Log - Hoffman Estates, IL) a club I have been a proud member of
since 2002.

FEATHER TOUCH FOCUSER BUSINESS SOLD
To our Dear Friends.
Detlef and I wanted to let you know that we have sold
the Feather Touch Focuser business. We wanted to tell
you ourselves before you heard rumors or read things in
chat rooms on the internet. It was a very difficult and
emotional decision, but we felt we were left with no
choice. After 16 years of continued growth we have
simply run out of capacity and had to look for options if we
wanted the Feather Touch to stay alive. The new owner
is Mr. Jon Joseph, president/owner of the manufacturing
facility who has produced the Feather Touch parts for the
last four years. Rest assured that he and his staff are just as
concerned about quality and precision as Detlef and I ever
were. We are confident that they will continue to offer a
high quality product, fair pricing and good customer
service. Detlef and I will continue working with Jon and
his staff on a consulting basis until the transition is
completed.
We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of
our hearts for all the support you have shown us over the
years. We have appreciated your purchases, ideas,
suggestions, help and always looking out for us, more then
you could ever imagine.
A few special thanks..........to Gary Poliquin for
setting the wheels in motion in vendor row at Astrofest
'91. To Max Mirot, our first "sales rep" at WSP in the
early '90's. To Paul Roy who was instrumental in
suggesting that we need a lower profile unit. To
George Naumczik who created our first webpage when we
were in a crunch. To Tom Auchter for use of his
Pleiades image as the background in our magazine ads.
To Dan Seltzer for his legal advice and counsel......and
to RK for his time and effort spent on software
programming and technical support of the Feather
Touch Digital System. Without his technical support this
product line would not exist.
This has been a very rewarding experience and at
times a very tough road, but without the friendships that
we have made along the way, it would be like observing
alone.
Sincerely,
Detlef and Brigitte
