[sac-forum] South Mountain Star Party

Hi Folks,

Last night's star party at South Mountain Park was a windy and cool
event, but the attendees were all excited to see and hear about the
things that we do (and often take for granted). Jack did a great job
"indoctrinating" (or was that introducing) the groups to the night sky.
While the wind was a bit high and the seeing less that what we like to
normally go outside for, even the park rangers got involved and oohed
and ahhed over things like M13, M22, Jupiter, Antares red glow and even
M31 through binoculars. There were around 35 attendees and plenty of
kids for us to spark an interest in astronomy. It just goes to show how
much fun looking at the stars can be even under less than ideal conditions.

Representing SAC were Al, Tom and Jen, Bob, myself and of Course Jack.
Sorry that more of us couldn't have made it.

Tim
