My best guess is that the cumulus you see will definitely clear off by
night. It will not be super transparency, with a few wisps of clouds
here and there near the horizon.

Here is an image taken just now, 2pm MST. You can make your own
interpretation. It doesn't feel bad to me, but it depends on what you
want.

It is 8:10am Saturday morning. It was a nice clear night last night.
I am not sure a mid afternoon report would be valuable. Like I
mentioned below, during the day yesterday it did not look good at
all but it cleared up very nice. It seems with all the internet
tools available, such as sky clock, to get up updated weather
forcasts, less than a day before making a trip, these would be
better than a mid day observation. In the o- o- l- l- d- d days we
had much less information to go on than now and took our chances. Of
course, gasoline wasn't as high then as it is now. It would be
interesting if anyone has kept any records from then to now that
could tell us if our hits are better now than then.

Okay. I should mention though, that mid afternoon did not look
good. Also around noon it rained and hailed for about a half hour
in Prescott Valley. But it all cleared up pretty good. I think
tonight will be like last night, clear but not very transparent.
The two doubles of Epsilon Lyrae were split nicely, but each pair
had a glow around them and Jupiter was not good for the same reason.

Could you give us a reading tomorrow mid-afternoon, Stan? With the
cloud
build up to the north and east in the afternoon these days, it's
really hard
to tell from here in Phx.
Thanks,

Here in
Phoenix the sky looks terrible at 7 pm (Friday), but the Sky
Clocks say that
it will be a perfect night for observing Cherry Road. Is it
really that
great?
