"And please, folks, no more buying new
equipment around new moon!"
It was that EVIL OPT company running "Free Shipping" and offering me
discounts for being a club member and what not that made me do it! I sold
out the new moon weekend just to save a few hundred dollars. I am so
ashamed! >:-)> (<---devil)
When am I safe to buy my set of Panoptic eyepieces?

In fact Hovatter was almost clear when I got there, perhaps 10% cloud
cover. But there indeed was a lot of water vapor in the atmosphere. I
waited until sunset then left. (No solo viewing at remote sites is part
of the deal at home.)
These last two weekends have given me good travel benchmarks, at least.
From my home (near Lincoln--AKA Glendale--and Scottsdale) it's 75
minutes door-to-site to Flatiron and 100 minutes to Hovatter in average
Saturday afternoon traffic and at no more than 5 mph above the limit.
Better luck next month to us all. And please, folks, no more buying new
equipment around new moon!
Clear skies eventually...
Dan

Wait Dan, I just checked the forecast for Salome and it says it will
be 30% cloud cover.
Andrew.
PS you will probably get this when you get home.

be near the Flatiron exit and able to give you a report about how it
looks to the west. Maybe I can either save you a trip or confirm that
it might be worthwhile.
