[sac-forum] Re: Saddle Mtn/Antennas Saturday night

I joined Steve, Dick and Joe at Antennas on Friday night, so can confirm that 
they were there but didn't think to ask if they are staying over Saturday as 
well. I assume they are...
   
  It was a beautiful night - their more experienced opinion is that is was one 
of the clearest nights ever from that site. A steady breeze died down shortly 
after sunset, giving us  a few hours of perfect conditions, but then sadly it  
picked up again and stayed pretty strong. Dick was chasing smudges on his 
eyepiece - oops, I mean Pismis 6 or some such very faint objects. He even 
dropped a filter in the dirt, which Steve noted as a ploy to improve 
nebulosity. We all enjoyed views through each other's scopes. My highlight was 
my first view of the Ghost of Jupiter - a very beautiful object.
   
  As usual, a very nice night of viewing. Looking forward to the Phoenix light 
dome disappearing for an hour tonight.    : - /
