[sac-forum] Re: STF105 in Leo Minor?

SAC observers;

Here is the reply from Richard Harshaw......

Argh, the problem is in all the old "Index" and appendix catalogs from
Struve and his boys.

STF 105 is indeed in CAS-- 01h 18.9m +66h 10m; 8.35 and 9.16 mag, 2.9"
at PA 184 (1998 data).

The star in Leo Minor is OSS 105 (Otto Struve, First Index catalog,
#105), and the WDS 2001 shows 6.88 and 8.10 mag, 133.6" @ 226 (1998
measure).

The Orion star is OS105 (Otto Struve #105).

Hope this clarifies the murk.

End of quote from Richard Harshaw.

I sent him another email asking for clarification on all these catalogs.
There are just too many choices here for my poor brain to keep straight. I
will let you know what I find. I think that there is a good Novice Group
talk to be had here. Maybe not so Novice Group;)))
