Club Members and Guests,
I met with the Rangers today and we went up to the site. Pretty much just
follow the Summit Road up to the TV towers about 6 miles after passing thru
the Park Entrance and the Ranger Station (which was the old entrance a few
years back - no longer have to pay a quarter!). At the top you will meet two
forks with signs, the Dobbins Lookout turn-in and the Buena Vista Lookout
turn-in. Just go right each time, following the sign arrows to "Gila Valley
Lookout/TV towers". We'll set up on the N and E side of the parking lot. The
TV towers are to the north and a nice view of Ahwatukee and part of Chandler
to the southeast. Weather should be perfect, around 70 F with a slight breeze
possibly.

Club Members!
Come one, come all to our first Public Star Party of the season. Bring your
telescopes, cameras, chairs, stepstools, water, and hot chocolate! Green laser
pointers welcome (observe cautions). The weather is chilly but beautiful!
Jupiter and Mercury in the sky. We will be allowed to drive up to the Lookout,
the Public will take the shuttles. Tell the ranger you are with the Club or
you have a telescope. Restroom facilities and refreshments provided.

Watch the signs, make sure you go to Gila Valley Lookout which is past both
