Chris, speaking of napping, I just got up from one. Made an early flight with
a friend to Parker for brunch and return to Deer Valley then my well deserved
nap. From the flight it seems to me that area will be getting the clouds we
flew under on the way home. Just past Alamo Lake they were at our cruising
altitude of 9500'. We descended to 7500' and by Wickenburg they were forcing
us to descend again. Fortunately that's when we had to descend to approach the
airport.
I'll have to check the weather and see which way the patterns are moving.
Right now I'm out for tonight and still would like to do 5MM, but after
Memorial Day.

Yes, I'm still heading that way. I plan to bring plenty of ice/ice-water and
a few tarps to rig some shade. Easily survivable - besides, I "NEED" a
two-nighter. Quality seeing or not. Per Dick's report.the numbers don't bode
well but the numbers have been proven wrong at this site on more than one
occasion. At the very least, I'll have some quality time to relax and read.
I will attempt to score a nap (I love naps) prior to my departure. Planning
to arrive at Antennas around 6:30pm or 7:00pm.at the very least sometime before
sunset.

Despite the 22%-36% forecast is anyone mad enough to head for Antenna?
Chris are you persevering out there???
Thanks Richard.

I can appreciate your photon deprivation syndrome-I've got it too. But
checking the digital weather forecast for the sites is not encouraging:
Five Mile Meadow-next 48 hours, 52% sky cover up to 100%, high chance of
rain, and during the night, the dry bulb and dew point will be
equal-translation, heavy, heavy dewing! Also cool (36 deg to 63 deg).
Antennas-68F (night) to 100F (daytime); sky cover from 22% to 36%.
Sentinel-72F to 100F, sky cover from 21% to 38%.
The daytimes in the two desert sites will be brutal but survivable, but the
skies don't seem all that great to me.
I'm staying put in town at least until Monday afternoon. I'll check the 5MM
forecast again then, see if the picture improves any.

Seeing the sun today has me pondering the absurd. Per the NWS, it appears
Cherry & 5MM will be experiencing on & off cloudy weather with rain chances for
the next few days. However, the Hovatter Rd and Sentinel sites should be
clearing up. The CSC seems to indicate that these are the two best options.
That said, I'm thinking about heading out to the Antennas site, possibly for
tonight and tomorrow night. Crazy? Absolutely. But at this point, I need
some photons.
Anyone else up for this?
Anyone have a better idea?
