Is it possible the eating could start at 6? That would solve problems of
a late meal and, as Jeff mentioned, everyone thinking about food instead
of listening to the talk.

Jeff,
The center it self is not that big, Shouldn't take you long to explore it.
As for the Speaker, He requested to speak prior to dinner, not my first
choice, But I'll accommodate him. Since this is a buffet, I'm not sure how
eating during the talk would work. I certainly wouldn't want people online
or getting up during the talk. At this point I think the plan I announced
previously will be how it goes. Maybe a few minor adjustments. But
essentially this is how it will go. I hope you can make it on time, but
understand I can't hold things up for one person.
The date is set in stone. The final date I refer to is the date to respond.
We have some grace over the original date of 8 Sept. to respond. I should
have the true final date by tomorrow or Wed. at the latest.

Rick,
I think it will be important to get an agenda as soon as possible.
You might even ask for members inputs.
I have never been to the center and suspect that it would be nice to
plan some time to explore it prior to the beginning of the
festivities. I may not be able to make it by 7 so it is imperative I
know what is planned.
As for dinner, I normally eat at 5 - 6 PM. Now if we are not eating
until after the speaker (8, 8:30, 9 PM), that will cause a problem.
Why not eat during the talk. Preferably the speaker should talk after
dinner. If the talk is before, everyone will be thinking of dinner ,
not the talk and be anxious for it to end so they can eat.
What is the "Final Date?" Does this mean we may not do this on the 29th?

One thing, Our Speaker has requested to speak prior to dinner, so please
plan on being on time. I expect we'll begin introductions by 1915. Dinner
will follow and we'll conclude with a short presentation by myself. I guess
we do have an agenda ;)
I'll put out a list of guests once I get a final count, BTW, there is still
time if you haven't already sent in your payment. I should have a "Final"
Final date from Challenger by tomorrow, I'll let you know.
