Ok, it sounds like there's interest. I don't believe pictures can be attached
here, and I don't have a site for posting them. I'll go ahead and send them
to those who responded. Beevo didn't seem to mind sharing them. Basically, his
mount is meant to attach to the camera screw on a sturdy camera tripod. The
really nice thing is that it folds up really small. Oh, Steve, one thing that
doesn't show in the picture is the upper part of the steel pin that screws onto
the tripod head. It fits inside the vertical part shown, and I believe it
serves as the main support and bearing surface on which the mount rotates. Wait
a second and I'll send the pix.

If the answer is yes, count me in!
(and thanks for the head's up, Paul)

Paul, at The Antennas Saturday night, several of us were chatting as the sky
was darkening and thought it would be a good project to do this spring-settle
on a standard plan and materials, then those who wanted to could get together
and make their mounts. Would this be ok?

Darrell,
We never got around to discussing the binocular mount because everyone was
deeply involved in their own project at the time. As a starting point we
looked at Beevo's mount, which he has since sold on EBay. There are no
mechanical drawings for it, but he posted some good pictures on EBay. I don't
remember the listing number but it's still there. I have a couple these pix
and will send them to you this afternoon. Gotta go now.

Sure is great to hear the reports from the Antenna site. Sorry I missed it.
Well, I've lately acquired a couple more binoculars and find myself badly
in need of a better mount. The tripod will be easy, but I'm wondering whether
to go parallelogram or straight up.
Anyway, wasn't the group meeting at Paul Lind's house fabricating such a
device (or am I mistaken)? If so, are you guys working from a set of plans
that has been published or is available electronically? I'd be very
interested in seeing what's involved.
By the way, I can see what all the fuss is about when going to 15x70s.
Easy to go from living room to observing and with great backyard views!
Thanks!
Darrell Spencer
