[sac-forum] New Orion 100mm ED Refractor

Well if you are trading up from the Orion f/7.5 80mm ED to the f/9 100mm, don't
bother to buy the rings. The same rings fit the new telescope. Apparently the
only differences between the two, besides the $500 price boost, is the
objective size and the tube length. The main tube is 11" longer and drawtube is
2.5" longer. The 100mm also has no 1/4-20 mounting plate. Everything else is
the same so if you read one of the many reviews of the 80, you pretty much got
the gist of the 100. The optics are still excellent.
BTW, I'm selling the 80; you heard it here first! I suppose I would not have
bought the 100mm, but since I have it, I've decided to keep it.
