[sac-forum] Re: NOT curious ANY MORE

If someone cared so much about this issue, they could join "that other club" in Phoenix... Perhaps it's just about the pieces of paper, that is, the observing certificates? Get your certs from SAC and/or EVAC >first< !! Another point... if the club signed up, and >some< members also were members of >another< AL club.... they might gripe about "having to pay (national) dues twice"...
So there you have it...
About SAC --- "What He Said..."
My two cents!

>From what I gather from the AL website and this discussion, the main reason against joining AL is they have little to offer that SAC doesn't already have. SAC is known worldwide for its observers, observing awards and lists and its deep sky database. The AL would add only the Herscell II award, and SAC's board members have had a discussion about changing that. (It didn't get far, probably my fault, but there it is.) If SAC joined, who would get the newsletter, or would we just pass it around? Personally, I think we have the greatest club in the world and see $10 to the AL as a waste of limited resources, at least on the club level. Join if you like, since it's doable, it's up to you.
